On the time of vacation, some people like places which are surrounded by mountains, and some loves rivers or sea.

But the best thing which I adore is the river flowing through the mountains with their insignificant depth, frequent rapids and waterfalls.

People says that Kasol is the perfect place for people who smoke, but for me it’s mesmerizing without any narcosis. The place has it’s own charm, you can just sit there and the sound of flowing water will make you fall in love with that moment.

  1. Fascinating road journey :

We started our journey from Delhi, with the rented car but you can also take bus from Delhi to Bhuntar (Himachal Pradesh) after then Bhuntar to Kasol. Also you can take flight to Kullu which is near to Bhuntar.

Total distance is 572 km which will be going to take 11hrs. Starting from Mandi to Kasol, you will be really amazed with the scenic beauty of this place. With blind turns, hairpin bends and narrow width, these roads has it’s own story.

It is situated in Parvati Valley, on the banks of the Parvati River, the perfect place for relaxing and for trekking.

  2. Cosy Stay at Kasol :

Booking the best place to stay is the challenge every time, as the need consist of various filters. I always use makemytrip.com  for my comfort and memorable stay. This time we stick around the Kasol Himalayan river camp, which is situated near the riverside and the best part was the view.

Yes, the view was outstanding, the river was flowing nearby our camp and the place was overall surrounded by mountains. If you are planning a trip, I would recommend to stay at one of the camps near the river and make your trip indelible.

  3.  Glorifying Manikaran Gurudwara:

If you are fond of place which are popular for worshiping, this place will amaze you with it’s incredible architectural design and an historic hot spring. Traveling 6 km from Kasol or 35 km from Kullu, this Gurudwara was constructed by Raja Jagat Singh in the 17th century. It is at an altitude of 1756 m.There are two types of belief for this place, one is of Hindu i.e,

Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, amazed with the beauty of this place and they decided to spend some time there. During their stay here, Goddess Parvati lost her mani (precious stones) in the waters of a stream. Lord Shiva commanded his attendant to find the mani for Parvati. However, when they failed,he opened his third eye, a tremendously inauspicious event which led to disturbances in the universe.

An appeal was made before the serpent godSheshnag, to pacify Lord Shiva. Sheshnag hissed thereby giving rise to a flow of boiling water. The water spread over the entire area resulting in the emergence of precious stones of the type Goddess Parvati had lost.

    And according to Sikh,
The founder of Sikhism Guru Nanak came to this place with his disciple Bhai MardanaMardana felt hungry and they had no food. Guru Nanak sent Mardana to collect food for the langar (the Community Kitchen). Many people donated atta (flour) to make Roti(bread) but there was no fire to cook the food.

Guru Nanak asked Mardana to lift a stone and he complied and a hot spring appeared. Mardana put the rolled chapatis in the spring to his despair the chapatis sank. Guru Nanak then told him to pray to God saying that if his chapatis float back then he would donate one chapati in his name. When he prayed all the chapatis started floating duly baked. Guru Nanak said that anyone who donates in the name of God, his drowned items float back.

  4.  Stiff Trekking in Kheerganga :

Not everyone can trek to Kheerganga or Malana, they are the toughest trekking and time taking. People who are enthusiast for this can go through it.It’s a nine kilometer trek, which takes about four hours to climb. As it lies at the extreme valley of Parvati Valley, so the path is full of obstacles and edgy sides.

You will pass through various hot sulphur springs, there are number of small waterfalls that will make you enjoy the nature and beauty.

But once you reached there, the result will be extremely soothing and priceless. A small temple of Lord Shiva and a bathing tank.

  5. Wondrous Tosh :

It is described as a “traditional village turned hippie colony”

To reach Tosh, you have to take bus from Kasol to Barshaini which will be going to take 1 hour approx. Although reaching there is not a tough task but to carry your belongings and trek for 1 hour is really exhausting.

Again, the outcome will fill your heart with joy. The view is breathtaking with full of clean air and magnificently calming.

The café which are inspired by Israeli/European culture and painted with fine art will make you fall in love with this place.

Advice: Just sit and enjoy sunset here at one of the café, have food and sleep. Some places are meant to just for resting and embracing your inner peace.
